Subject: ScrumAlliance Membership

We would like to encourage you to join the Scrum Alliance, membership in which is limited to Certified ScrumMasters. The Scurm Alliance is dedicated to spreading the word about Scrum and to providing resources for Certified ScrumMasters and for others interested in learning about Scrum. Our website doesn't yet have a lot of resources, but we are adding more on a regular basis. We're also hopeful that more than just joining the Scrum Alliance you will actively help in the creation of additional content for the site.

Please look around the site and enjoy the beginnings of what's there. We've got some groups promising to contribute things like videos of their daily scrums, parts of planning meetings, and so on. Look for ways you might be able to contribute--even if you're completely new, compiling FAQs or even making the list of what the Questions should be would be a wonderful way to help this site grow to become the premier destination for information on Scrum.

Back in April, I took a three day seminar from Rally Software Development on Agile Software Development Project Management. It was held at the Santa Clara Hyatt Regency, the hotel formerly known as the Westin Santa Clara. I remember that the lunches were awesome with food from around the world. But then, again, I did learn some project management stuff.

Trained project managers and other development team staff to scale Software Agility using one of the largest and fastest-growing agile project management methodologies. Scrum is a simple software management technique that has a small set of interrelated practices and rules that produces productivity gains for software development teams.
  • Focuses on management and overall coordination of IT software applications developers involved in the development of infrastructure tools, enterprise wide, automated provisioning systems, globally deployed asset tracking systems and related systems and Client Services applications.
  • Identifies priorities of work to be performed.
  • Plans, manages, tracks and leads concurrent multiple projects technical work for Client Services according to SDLC phases, develops schedules, works with clients and Business Units to develop requirements and analyze project needs, schedules resources, monitors progress and priorities, coordinates cross-functional activities on both a daily basis as well as on long-term strategic projects
  • Tracks project status and progress, communicates status with other groups, resolves issues related to requirements and technical approaches, remove barriers for developers, and assists in strategic planning with clients and IT team management
